Anime Fans, SPRING Into Action and catch all this week's latest releases with Fantera!

Catch up on the latest anime news, releases, and events for Spring 2025!

Hello and welcome back, friends and anime fans, to another exciting issue of the newly-rebranded Fantera weekly newsletter, your friendly source for all things anime! We’ve got a lot to talk about this week, so strap in! We’ll discuss the new Spring anime lineup, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, some exciting Easter news, as well as a little cultural background on the home of anime itself, Japan!

Well fans, the weather is changing once again! Here stateside the world has turned green, with giant clouds of pollen dying cars and stuffing noses everywhere— meanwhile in the Land of the Rising Sun, the famously beautiful Sakura Trees, whose blossoms are the national flower of Japan, are in full bloom! The people of Japan flock to the countryside every year from late March to early April to witness these blooming cherry trees.
The Sakura trees play a keystone role in Japanese culture. For over a thousand years, the Japanese people have been observing a practice called Hanami, originally a joyful celebration taken place under the trees themselves, now referring to the culture of Japanese flower-watching.

Editor’s Note:

Last week we talked a little bit about the changes happening under the hood here at Fantera, and we’ll briefly continue to talk about those changes over the next few weeks. The first and biggest changes are also some of the easiest to talk about!
We’ve added some excited and motivated staff, and totally reworked the website from the ground-up! These changes will make it easier for us to improve the quality of our content for our subscribers, equipping us to create and add new features / content in the future! We’ve also tasked Yuki with watching all of this year’s newest and most popular anime, so check out her corner for all the hottest takes!

Yuki’s Corner!

Hey fans, Yuki here! It’s times like these when it seems like a new awesome anime is releasing every single day when it can be easy to develop FOMO, or a fear of missing out!
It’s hard to find the time to stay caught up on all the newest shows, especially when there are so many good ones to watch! Fortunately for us both, it’s my job to catch all the newest releases— so don’t worry about a thing! I’ll watch them all first and bring the best ones back to you, the fans! And as an added bonus, most streaming sites these days allow you to queue up those shows for later watching, so you can build a back-catalog of recommended anime and work through it at your pace!

  • And of course, a quick (hopefully not too relatable) meme to send you off!
